Job Description
The Dallas Independent School District is seeking a Technician II, Desktop Support SE (226 Days) to deliver on-site technical assistance for central staff, campus personnel, and students. This role focuses on diagnosing and resolving computer, peripheral, and network issues, managing user access, and supporting district applications across the on-campus environment in Dallas, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Offer on-site and remote technical support to DISD central staff, campus personnel, and students to troubleshoot computers, peripherals, and network problems.
- Escalate complex LAN and WAN connectivity issues to the appropriate IT departments.
- Troubleshoot user access problems including SSO, MFA, VPN, and remote access; support district administrative software, productivity suites, VPN clients, and department-specific software.
- Assist with district applications such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and instructional software.
- Record interactions, incidents, and service requests in the district's IT service management system.
- Develop technical documentation and contribute to the knowledge base.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the IT Client Support Services Department, aiming for customer satisfaction, meeting service level agreements, and ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Accredited high school diploma or equivalent with a CompTIA certification and at least two years of information technology support experience.
- Experience with Android, iOS, macOS, Chrome OS, and Google Workspace applications.
- Strong ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software failures.
- Familiarity with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) for application deployment and support is a plus.
- Knowledge of wired and wireless networking technologies.
- Experience managing users and devices in Microsoft Active Directory.
- Effective communication skills.
