Desktop Support Specialist - Field
Job Description
Support field and corporate teams with first- and second-level IT help, onsite troubleshooting, and equipment onboarding for critical oil and gas operations.
- Primary field IT support for field personnel, helping maintain dependable access to business-critical operational technologies
- Handle help desk tickets and support requests in a timely, professional manner
- Provision and configure new user hardware, software, accounts, and access using company procedures
- Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
- Provide first-level support for Microsoft Office, email systems, and VPN connections
- Support onboarding and offboarding tasks such as workstation imaging, disabling accounts, and equipment collection
- Maintain IT inventory for equipment and ensure documentation stays up to date
- Escalate and assist with complex technical issues when they require senior team support
- Perform basic network troubleshooting including port resets, printer sharing, and connection diagnostics
- Deliver customer service to internal users in person, by phone, or virtually with a courteous, professional approach
Requirements
- Education or experience: 2 years of technical education or certification in Information Technology or a related field, or 4 years of relevant IT support experience in lieu of education
- Preferred experience: 2 years in a help desk, IT support, or desktop technician role
- Technical foundation: knowledge of Windows operating systems and standard desktop applications
- Troubleshooting skills: ability to diagnose basic hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
- Communication: strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users
- Organization: excellent organization and time management to manage multiple requests simultaneously
- Customer service: professional, courteous demeanor
- Process discipline: willingness to learn and follow standard operating procedures and technical documentation
- Tools: familiarity with ticketing systems, asset tracking tools, and remote support software preferred
Location and Schedule
- Quaker City, OH (hybrid)
- Travel up to 50% to remote field offices and field sites as needed

- Ability to demonstrate strong work ethic and willingness to work extended hours when necessary
- Ability to perform light work, including occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Ability to see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity, including kneeling, sitting, standing, walking, crouching, stooping, and reaching
- Ability to operate standard office and IT equipment including computers, mobile devices, printers, and network hardware
