Job Description
Based in Annapolis, MD, this onsite Dispatch AV/IT Technician role focuses on desktop and AV support, basic network and infrastructure checks, and conference room operations. The position requires coordination with remote teams and vendors to fulfill dispatch requirements as needed. Compensation ranges from USD 30 to 35 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Perform desktop and notebook troubleshooting, including coordinating warranty repairs and break-fix activities.
- Track loaner and spare devices using customer-provided systems.
- Provide L1 AV support for meeting rooms, including device checks, resets, room readiness, and basic hardware troubleshooting.
- Manage conference room accounts by adding or removing users, performing password resets, and updating ownership.
- Assist with basic troubleshooting of corporate printers, including toner replacements and waste cartridge changes.
- Provide smart-hands assistance for onsite infrastructure and network checks, covering ports, cabling, patch panels, access points, power verification, and device resets.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors and procurement teams as required.
- Support equipment replacement or reset during failures under guidance from central IT.
- Ability to work at height when required, using ladders or lifts.
- Maintain communication with onsite and offsite teams to report changes, issues, or updates.
- Ensure proper coverage during leaves and follow site operational processes and SOPs.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of IT and AV support experience.
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience with desktops, laptops, and meeting room devices.
- Basic understanding of network fundamentals, including LAN ports, cabling, patching, and device resets.
- Familiarity with conferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Webex.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting equipment and working at height.
- Strong communication, customer service, and documentation skills.
- Ability to follow SOPs, ticketing processes, and escalation guidelines.
- Experience using ITSM tools such as ServiceNow and Jira.
- Exposure to AV control systems or room management systems.
- Basic understanding of AV over IP or networked AV environments.
- Experience in enterprise or fast-paced onsite environments.
- Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, and basic AV training.
- Experience in Audio Visual support.
- Basic understanding of networking and TCP/IP.
- Basic understanding of fiber, copper, and general network infrastructure.
- Crestron Fusion familiarity.
- Hardware support experience.
- Experience with Extron, Crestron, Fusion, and Managed Teams Room devices.
- Ability to explain networks and connection types and troubleshoot multiple connection types (home or corporate).
- Ability to differentiate between different connection types and troubleshoot connectivity.
- Strong communication skills; able to deliver clear and succinct messages without disclosing internal details.
- Experience in an enterprise environment with Crestron and Fusion at the server and application layer.
- Experience supporting Microsoft, Lenovo, Dell, and Apple certified environments.
- CompTIA A+ certification and other OEM certifications.
