Job Description
Ranger Energy Services is seeking a Help Desk Technician I to deliver frontline IT support for computer systems and users across its network of satellite offices and field operations in Midland, Texas. This onsite role focuses on recognizing issues, researching solutions, and applying resolution steps, while coordinating with other IT staff on more complex problems.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support via phone, remote access, in-office, and on-site visits during normal business hours
- Offer phone guidance to users on how to operate their computer systems
- Monitor the support ticket queue and manage tickets accordingly
- Resolve tickets sourced from the queue and document outcomes
- Identify and escalate critical events as needed
- Install, reinstall, configure, and troubleshoot desktop operating systems, software, and hardware
- Install and troubleshoot hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, and printers
- Maintain open communication with team members to assist in resolving client issues
- Answer Ranger Help Desk requests when feasible
- Keep accurate inventory of end-user equipment
- Receive and escalate service requests requiring enhanced response
- Act as an escalation point for performance issues
- Occasional travel may be required
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Vocational training with equivalent experience in computer science, networking, computer repair, business systems, or related technical fields; or 2+ years of end-user support experience
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently, with strong multitasking and adaptability to frequent change
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with a commitment to delivering quality service
- Excellent customer service abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Technical competencies include: multiple anti-malware solutions, backup solutions, network cabling, VPN configuration and troubleshooting, network printer troubleshooting, Active Directory user configuration and management, and network support and administration
