Helpdesk Technician
Job Description
Join EnerSys in Commack, NY as an on-site Helpdesk Technician supporting office and production teams in a regulated manufacturing environment. You will deliver front-line technical support, keep end-user systems running smoothly, and help ensure secure, reliable operations while working closely with the Systems Administrator and Enterprise IT teams.
This role supports workstation deployments and ongoing endpoint support for devices such as desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations, printers, scanners, and mobile devices. You will also troubleshoot hardware, software, Microsoft 365, Windows, and basic network connectivity, following EnerSys cybersecurity standards and ITAR/CUI requirements.
What you’ll do
- Respond to technical assistance requests by phone, email, remote support, and in person.
- Diagnose and resolve issues across hardware, software, Microsoft 365, Windows, printers, peripherals, and basic networking.
- Install, configure, image, deploy, and support desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
- Assist with user account setup and password resets, including basic Active Directory account administration.
- Support production floor computers, barcode scanners, label printers, and manufacturing workstations to help minimize downtime.
- Perform workstation deployments for new hires, employee transfers, and equipment refresh projects.
- Maintain accurate inventory for IT hardware, peripherals, software assets, and equipment assignments.
- Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the company IT service management system.
- Coordinate warranty repairs, vendor support, and hardware replacement activities.
- Support approved software installations, endpoint security tools, Windows updates, and routine preventative maintenance.
- Escalate server, network, cybersecurity, and infrastructure issues to the Systems Administrator or Enterprise IT teams.
- Follow EnerSys cybersecurity, ITAR, CUI, and data protection policies while supporting users and systems.
- Participate in local IT projects, office moves, technology deployments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you bring
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
- 1 to 3 years of relevant IT support, desktop support, or help desk experience.
- Experience supporting Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and standard business applications (preferred).
- Exposure to regulated environments such as ITAR, CUI, or NIST 800-171 (preferred).
- Familiarity with endpoint deployment, workstation imaging, hardware lifecycle management, and asset inventory (preferred).
- Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and active listening.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 installation and end-user support.
- Understanding of PC hardware configurations, printers, scanners, mobile devices, network user administration, basic networking concepts, endpoint security, backup technologies, and cloud-based technologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot desktop hardware, software, peripherals, and basic network connectivity while providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
- Must be willing and able to work occasional overtime, evenings, weekends, and adjusted schedules as needed for production operations, planned maintenance, equipment deployments, emergency response, and business continuity.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments as needed.

Compensation: USD 50,000 to 65,000 per year.
