IT Field Service Help Desk Technician
Job Description
EMCO Technology, Inc offers an onsite IT Field Service role in Levittown, PA with a competitive hourly rate of 26 to 40 USD. This position focuses on managing customer IT infrastructure, troubleshooting hardware and software, and installing and supporting network devices through on-site, in-house, and remote services. Responsibilities
- Carry out essential technical work to manage customer IT infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve desktop and laptop hardware and software issues.
- Install, test, and support network devices including servers, workstations, VMware hardware and software, printers, spam filters, Exchange servers, Active Directory and Windows DNS.
- Deliver on-site, in-house, and remote computer and network services.
- Collaborate with customers' mission-critical servers and software packages and their support vendors.
- Maintain a solid understanding of Internet fundamentals including DNS, security, IP routing, HTTP, VPN, email routing, and SPAM.
- Configure and deploy firewalls, switches, VPN concentrators, and security appliances.
- Keep comprehensive documentation for hardware, software, networks, and problem logs.
- Experience with Microsoft 0365, SharePoint and Microsoft products.
- Back up and restore client systems and data.
- Maintain current technical knowledge and stay informed about industry trends to support networks and PCs.
- Coordinate with external vendors to troubleshoot IT issues for labs and manufacturing facilities as they arise.
- Exhibit excellent troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair network connectivity.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical thinking, quickly absorbing new technical concepts.
- Display strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to relay technical concepts to a business audience.
- Write and maintain technical documentation effectively.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware, software, and licenses.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other technical discipline preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in office infrastructure and office technologies.
- Expert level proficiency with Windows operating systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010 and higher and other basic Microsoft Windows applications.
- Configuration and troubleshooting of PC, laptop, tablet, and smartphone (iOS and Android).
- MAC experience preferred.
- Strong diagnostic, problem resolution and proactive monitoring skills.
