IT Help Desk Specialist
Job Description
This IT Help Desk Specialist role is based onsite in Lovelock, NV, with a salary range of USD 75,000 to 85,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Provide frontline technical support to end users for hardware, software, and network questions, delivering prompt resolutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues remotely or on site to minimize business disruption.
- Assist with configuring and provisioning workstations, printers, and other peripherals for staff.
- Support server maintenance to maintain stability, security, and optimal performance.
- Monitor system resource usage, identify bottlenecks, and take proactive steps to prevent outages.
- Contribute to data backups and participate in disaster recovery planning.
- Collaborate with the Senior Systems Administrator to implement network security measures and prevent unauthorized access.
- Install, upgrade, and configure software applications, ensuring proper licensing and timely updates.
- Maintain an inventory of hardware and software assets, tracking licensing compliance.
- Assist in enforcing IT security policies and procedures to protect sensitive information from threats.
- Stay informed about emerging security threats and best practices, participating in security awareness programs.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including user guides and standard operating procedures.
- Lead or participate in training sessions to empower staff with essential IT skills and practices.
Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of experience as an IT Support Specialist or in a similar role.
- Proven ability to communicate with senior leaders and executives, delivering high level white glove service.
- Solid knowledge of computer systems, hardware, software, and network administration.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Windows and the Office suite.
- Proficient at diagnosing technical issues and delivering timely solutions.
- Demonstrated problem solving, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Passion for technology and a proactive approach to staying current with IT trends.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
