IT Support Specialist
Job Description
The IT Support Specialist role supports day-to-day employee technology needs by maintaining systems, resolving issues, and helping keep the IT environment reliable.
Responsibilities
- Handle IT help requests via phone, email, or in-person support
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals
- Troubleshoot basic issues for desktops, laptops, printers, and network connectivity
- Support setup and maintenance of email, cloud services, and user accounts using Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
- Record troubleshooting steps and outcomes, and maintain IT work logs
- Assist with new workstation setup, including imaging and software installation
- Provide user guidance on best practices and IT policies
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or relevant certifications preferred
- Basic understanding of operating systems including Windows and macOS, plus common software applications
- Familiarity with networking concepts including TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, and LAN/WAN
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication and customer service skills
Preferred
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar IT certifications
- Experience through internship, part-time IT, or technical support roles
- Ability to work independently and escalate complex issues to senior staff
- Exposure to Active Directory and remote support tools

Compensation
- Base salary: $65,000–$75,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
Working Conditions
- Location: Jamaica, NY (onsite)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
- Coverage needs: some flexibility for evening or weekend support may be required
- Work style: hands-on troubleshooting and occasional lifting of hardware equipment
