IT Support Sr Specialist
Job Description

This role combines hands-on user support with hardware and software planning, deployment coordination, and end-to-end lifecycle management in a client-based setting. The position features a salary range of $75,640 to $113,460 per year and requires a minimum of five years in IT support.
Responsibilities
- Deliver support for corporate standard technology products, including hardware and software planning, technical guidance, and informal training for internal customers.
- Plan and coordinate installation and deployment activities for software, hardware, and network facility upgrades.
- Troubleshoot routine technical issues and restore services within established processes; propose preventive measures to reduce recurrence.
- Collaborate with field locations to standardize support practices and procedures.
- Coordinate deployments and implementations with Information Services departments and user groups to help projects meet deadlines.
- Provide daily operational support for the Maryland Campus, covering SMC, TechSpot, and walk-up services; ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests across end-user devices, servers, and network components.
- Maintain readiness of spare hardware (laptops/desktops) to support rapid replacement and minimize user downtime.
- Support PCSR processes to ensure efficient provisioning and lifecycle management of end-user devices.
- Support and maintain the TechGrad Training Lab environment to enable ongoing training programs.
- Track and assist with Server EOSL cycles, coordinating with appropriate teams for planning and replacements.
- Perform NAS permissions analysis and monitor storage capacity to identify potential risks.
- Lead data center optimization efforts, including computer room server rack consolidation to improve space, power, and cooling efficiency and reduce physical sprawl.
- Partner with infrastructure teams to execute migration and decommissioning plans as part of an ongoing infrastructure lifecycle strategy.
- Contribute to the Server EOSL replacement program and develop a forward-looking server replacement roadmap aligned with budgets and risk priorities.
- Work to reduce operational risk associated with aging infrastructure.
Requirements
- 5+ years in an IT support role.
- Experience providing operational leadership and support for day-to-day IT services, ensuring service continuity, hardware readiness, and coordination of key infrastructure lifecycle activities.
- Infrastructure support planning experience.
- Experience with walk-up tech bar support.
- Server support experience.
- Network support experience, including Wireless Access Points.
- Monitoring storage capacity experience.
- A+ Certification.
