Machinist Technical Support Specialist - Metal Cutting

Machinist and metal cutting technical support professional delivering daily product assistance to end users, industrial distributors, and outside sales staff, including tool recommendations, feature explanations, catalog specifications, and price quotations with technical details and delivery schedules; also handles phone, chat, email, and website inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily technical product support for end users, industrial distributors, and outside sales staff.
• Recommend appropriate cutting tools based on application needs.
• Explain product features and benefits to customers.
• Supply catalog specifications and technical data.
• Prepare price quotations with technical specifications and delivery timelines.
• Answer incoming phone calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Address live web chat inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Respond to email inquiries with timely, professional communication.
• Handle website-generated inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years in a metal cutting machine shop, or experience supporting metal cutting tooling solutions at an industrial distributor, or a degree from a vocational trade school in manufacturing technology.
• Excellent telephone etiquette with the ability to manage a high volume of calls professionally.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and escalate issues as needed to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective time management with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Solid problem solving and conflict resolution skills with composure under pressure.
• CAD/CAM assisted programming knowledge is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite with HubSpot and SAP experience preferred.
• Knowledge of EMUGE-FRANKEN products or similar cutting tools is a plus.

Job Schedule

• Full-time, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Thursday; 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Friday

Compensation

• Annual pay rate: $70,000 – $80,000
