Onsite Desktop Support Technician
Job Description
Onsite Desktop Support Technician for a six plus month contract in Pittsburgh, PA, delivering high-touch, on-site IT support to executives and administrative staff during a large-scale PC conversion project.
Responsibilities
- Execute Service Desk tasks in alignment with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Oversee service delivery for the primary site and supported regional locations
- Assess and provide computer hardware, software, and related services to meet defined SLAs
- Accurately document hardware failures, repairs, installations, and removals in the ITIL-based Service Desk system
- Administer and support current antivirus and Tanium deployments to safeguard client systems
- Maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the Service Desk for accurate asset records
- Perform PC lifecycle activities: Install, Move, Add, Change, Refresh, Stock, and Dispose
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain network printers/scanners, MFDs, desktop Teams, and mobile devices
- Resolve incident and service request backlogs, communicate progress to end users, and conduct root-cause analysis
- Provide VIP on-site support as requested
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of experience and certifications
- Minimum of 3 years in related IT roles
- Windows 7/10/11 user and administrator experience
- Proven TCP/IP and networking knowledge, ICND1 or equivalent certification
- Professional level knowledge of PC desktop and laptop hardware
- Audio/Video equipment support experience
- Excellent customer service skills with white-glove support across all organizational levels, including C-level executives
- Strong sense of urgency and effective communication abilities (in-person, email, and Teams)
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
