Job Description

The Part Time Onsite IT Support role provides on-site technical assistance and technology deployment for small and mid-size businesses, offering flexible hours and travel to client sites. This position is based onsite in Prudhoe Bay, AK.

Responsibilities

  • Visit customers in the specified Metro Area when an onsite presence is needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve computer and network issues with support from remote personnel.
  • Deploy new technology with assistance from remote colleagues.
  • Assess customer support needs to identify appropriate technology solutions.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with customers.
  • Document work performed and related technical details for clients.

Requirements

  • Ability to diagnose and repair hardware and software issues for desktops and servers.
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003/2008, Active Directory, Exchange, DNS.
  • End-user and help desk experience with MS Office Suite and other common desktop applications.
  • Experience troubleshooting network issues related to switches and routers.
  • Configuration of TCP/IP settings on networks and resolution of TCP/IP problems.
  • Certifications such as A+, MCSE, MCTS, MCITP, CNE, CCNA are a plus but not required.
  • Must reside within close proximity to the Metro Area for which you are applying.

Job Description

Hours are not guaranteed, and the role includes a recurring client-site assignment every other week. This position offers a flexible option for occasional supplemental income rather than a guaranteed monthly income. The Onsite IT Consultant helps small and medium-sized businesses operate more efficiently through effective use of current technologies. We seek candidates with strong customer-focused, consultative skills complemented by solid technical and troubleshooting abilities. You will provide onsite support and technology implementation services for multiple businesses, blending consulting with hands-on technical work.
