Job Description
Product Technical Support Engineer providing global technical support to Data Center Accounts and Field Sales & Service with remote-work potential; based in Tempe, AZ, salary USD 89,000 - 149,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Deliver day-to-day technical support for key Data Center Accounts within the Field Sales & Service organization on a global scale via on-site visits, phone, fax, or email.
- Enhance product reliability by applying the Continuous Improvement Process to both current products and new offerings.
- Provide technical support and collaborate with quality management and engineering to optimize life cycle cost.
- Design test plans to validate new or existing product equipment offerings.
- Maintain effectiveness when workloads or environments change, adapt by exploring benefits, trying new approaches, and partnering with others to ensure successful transitions.
- Develop innovative, measurable solutions for existing and prospective customers; experiment with new methods to solve problems and seize opportunities; involve teammates in problem solving and leverage technology to create differentiated outcomes.
- Prioritize the customer perspective in decision making and implement service practices that meet both customer and organizational needs.
- Encourage cross-team contributions to strategy while driving operational discipline, role clarity, and performance transparency; establish clear standards to improve performance and share results widely, fostering a One Team mindset.
- Identify problems and opportunities by collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data; choose action steps using clear criteria, evaluate alternatives, and act promptly within available facts and constraints to optimize outcomes.
Requirements
- Preference for candidates in the Chicago, San Antonio, or Phoenix areas.
- Travel up to 25 percent locally (2 to 4 hours from your work location).
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical/scientific field required with 2+ years of experience; or, without a degree, 6+ years of technical experience with HVAC&R product knowledge.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex product system problems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, plus general Internet software and email usage.
- Skilled in troubleshooting the refrigeration cycle as applied to air-conditioning duty on Applied Equipment.
