Senior Technical Support Engineer - Global Support Center DUV

ASML's Global Support Center DUV seeks a Senior Technical Support Engineer to lead advanced diagnostics for DUV systems, provide global escalation support, and drive ongoing improvements that resolve complex field issues while strengthening regional capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and remediate intricate technical issues escalated from field teams and customer sites, applying structured troubleshooting and data analysis with focus on illumination, projection, and dose-control modules of ASML DUV scanners.
• Develop clear diagnostic action plans that guide field engineers from problem definition to technical resolution.
• Build deep technical expertise and continuously expand knowledge of ASML DUV systems, diagnostics, and escalation processes.
• Troubleshoot Illumination, Projection, and Dose Control competency issues, including projection lens performance, illumination profiles, dose stability, and light-source performance.
• Use MATLAB and offline diagnostic tooling to analyze optical path behavior, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Support 24/7 global escalation coverage through effective shift handoffs, stakeholder updates, and collaboration with GSC teams in other regions.
• Share diagnostic knowledge with worldwide GSC competency teams and Customer Support engineers through documentation, training, and knowledge transfer.
• Identify lessons learned from escalations and contribute to continuous-improvement actions that enhance future diagnostics and field self-sufficiency.
• Advance proactive diagnostics and predictive data modeling approaches to reduce unexpected downtime.
• Demonstrate ASML's values of Challenge, Collaborate, and Care while working with a global network of engineers and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical field with 3-5 years of relevant working experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with 6-8 years of relevant working experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree with 6-8 years of relevant working experience.
• Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and design documentation.
• Advanced experience with feedback control systems.
• Knowledge of optical principles and the ability to troubleshoot projection lens performance, illumination profiles, dose control, and illumination sources such as mercury arc lamps and excimer lasers.
• Fluency in English.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex data into practical diagnostic directions.
• Technical strength in illumination, projection, dose control, optical path diagnostics, imaging/focus performance, electronics, and gas-flow-based light-path conditioning.
• Clear, concise communication skills for technical updates, stakeholder alignment, and knowledge transfer.
• Ability to work effectively in global, cross-functional teams across different technical competencies.
• Strong ownership, initiative, and follow-through in a fast-changing environment with competing priorities.
• Flexibility, open-mindedness, and willingness to challenge assumptions while remaining collaborative and customer focused.
