Job Description

The onsite Technical Support Engineer (Branch Engineer) role at GadellNet is based in Indianapolis, Indiana, providing on-site IT support, network and desktop troubleshooting, and on-call coverage for a local client with some travel.

Location: Indianapolis, IN (onsite)

Salary: USD 50,000 - 60,000 per year

Experience: Minimum 2 years

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a credible on-site resource for remote teams to resolve issues
  • Act as the primary contact for CSE clients assigned to you for technical issues
  • Repair, replace under warranty, and deploy workstations for clients
  • Diagnose and resolve network-related issues for clients
  • Identify opportunities for hardware or software upgrades or gaps and report to account management
  • Maintain and create documentation for clients as needed
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support
  • After-hours duties may include installing and configuring server room hardware such as switches, firewalls, and UPS devices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve remote tickets when on-site work is not available

Requirements

  • Occasional physical tasks involving twisting, stretching, and lifting over 50 lbs
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • After-hours work required for critical outages, projects, and on-call rotation
  • 2+ years of troubleshooting experience with desktop systems up to Windows 11
  • 2+ years with server systems up to Server 2022
  • Experience with Office 365 or Online Exchange 2019
  • Experience with modern (2019) network equipment
  • 2+ years of experience in network design, maintenance, and installation
  • Experience troubleshooting network cabling
  • Ability to mount network hardware into communication racks or mount wireless access points
  • Experience maintaining network infrastructure
  • Application support experience
  • Microsoft Teams conference rooms experience
  • Proficiency with Office Suite
  • Experience with Adobe products
  • Strong interpersonal skills with focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Ability to research a wide range of computing issues
  • Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly, business-friendly manner
  • Working knowledge of diagnostic utilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's license

About the Position

As a Branch Engineer, you will be responsible for all onsite support, ensuring timely arrival at sites, coordinating with Dispatchers when delays occur, resolving user issues on-site promptly, and escalating unresolved issues to remote teams for review. Problem resolution may require use of diagnostic and ticket-tracking tools and hands-on desktop assistance. You will visit clients onsite as required and serve as a primary point of contact for IT needs. Additional duties include assisting the project team with network infrastructure rollouts, server migrations, Office 365 deployments, and office moves. All Technical Support Engineers participate in an on-call schedule, with daily time entry and management of personal ticket queues. This full-time, onsite role is based in downtown Indianapolis and may involve some out-of-state or overnight travel.
