Technical Support Engineer (Hybrid)
Job Description
In Pittsburgh, NET Xperts LLC offers a hybrid, hands-on IT support role designed for a professional who thrives in a client-facing technical environment. This hybrid-remote position combines remote troubleshooting with on-site client visits, a weekly in-office requirement, and an on-call rotation to ensure critical systems stay protected and available.
Responsibilities
- Configure, monitor, and maintain client endpoints, cloud infrastructure, servers, and networks, diagnosing issues and applying solutions.
- Set up, install, configure, and support endpoints and network equipment for multiple clients.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on project work and contribute where needed to advance deployments.
- Learn from and be mentored by Senior Engineers to develop technical proficiency and professional growth.
- Contribute to implementing endpoint, cloud, and network security measures across client environments.
- Participate in an on-call rotation, approximately two to three times per year.
- Deliver most support remotely with occasional on-site visits to client sites.
- Work from the Forest Hills office with access to a company vehicle for client engagements.
- Post onboarding, split time between the office and client locations as needed by engagements.
- Travel to one to five clients in a day depending on project scope, with potential multi-day returns to complete work.
- May be included in an on-site rotation to visit certain clients weekly or monthly.
Requirements
- Residence in the region is required due to weekly in-office attendance and on-site client support responsibilities.
- Relocation from out of state is not advised; out-of-state candidates will not be considered.
- Minimum four years of post-graduation experience in a professional business environment.
- Recent graduates are not eligible; the role seeks an IT Support Engineer with progressive experience.
- Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience is required.
- Ability to earn new certifications as part of the job requirements.
- Driver's License with proof of insurance and the ability to maintain a valid license.
- Must be able to commute to Pittsburgh, PA 15221.
- Must pass a background check.
- Hybrid work design prefers in-region candidates; you may work from home up to two days per week.

Education and Experience
- Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience is required.
- At least four years of progressive, post-graduation experience in a production environment.
- Certifications are valued; partnerships include Microsoft, WatchGuard, Datto, Cisco, Symantec, VMware, and HP/Aruba, and there is an expectation to earn new certifications as part of the role.
Skills and Job Requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server and Azure virtual servers
- Experience with Windows client operating systems and Microsoft 365
- Active Directory and Entra expertise
- Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware ESXi/vCenter and Hyper-V
- Familiarity with antivirus/EDR/EPDR tools and remote access clients
- Knowledge of Barracuda appliances and various HP/Dell hardware
- Experience with MSP environments, and familiarity with RMM and PSA tools
- Ability to manage on-prem to cloud migrations and cloud infrastructure tasks
- PowerShell capability and cloud infrastructure experience
