Technical Support Specialist

Red Seal Measurement is hiring a Technical Support Specialist in Greenwood, SC onsite to help customers get metering solutions installed, configured, and working reliably.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inbound technical questions by phone, email, and a live ticket system covering meter operation, installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Use a structured approach to identify whether issues are related to hardware, firmware, communications, or wiring, then guide customers to effective resolutions.
• Support field technicians and engineers during installation and commissioning with real-time troubleshooting.
• Document each customer issue and resolution in the CRM/ticketing system.
• Share recurring defects and emerging technical trends with Quality and Engineering teams.
• Develop FAQs, knowledge base articles, and straightforward troubleshooting guides for common customer problems.

Requirements

• 1–3+ years of experience in technical support, field service, or customer support in manufacturing, electronics, or industrial control systems.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical principles, including signal outputs such as 4–20mA, pulse, and Modbus, and/or meter calibration concepts.
• Strong analytical skills and the patience to coach non-technical users through complex technical steps.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to stay calm and professional under pressure.
• Experience with CRM/ticketing software (e.g., Salesforce) and basic diagnostic software tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related trade field.
• Hands-on experience with flow, power, water, gas, or process measurement equipment.
• Spanish speaking abilities (plus).
