HVAC Technical Support Technician
Job Description
General Filters, Inc. is seeking an HVAC technical support technician to provide technical guidance, training, and field support to resolve product and installation issues, while aiding the sales, engineering, and operations teams.
Responsibilities
- Handle field inquiries by phone and email, delivering technical expertise to troubleshoot product and installation concerns.
- Assess returned units to identify and troubleshoot product or installation failures.
- Deliver product and installation training for customer service representatives, sales teams, wholesalers, and contractors.
- Lead product and installation seminars and demonstrations.
- Assist Customer Service Specialists by handling incoming sales calls and emails.
- Support RMA processing and provide technical and sales assistance to walk-in customers.
- Participate in sales calls with Sales Department staff and agents.
- Support Engineering and Sales in developing product strategies.
- Collaborate with the Operations team on corporate product development and quality assurance initiatives.
- Communicate product and customer concerns to appropriate corporate personnel.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree is preferred.
- Experience: HVAC experience is desirable; at least 1 year in HVAC or related products is preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication; able to present as a polished professional when engaging with customers.
- Work style: Able to thrive in a fast paced environment, stay organized, and respond in a timely manner; capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently.
- Technical duties: When not handling calls, contribute to lab testing and engineering support.
- Software proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel and strong Outlook; PowerPoint skills are beneficial.
- Customer focus: Strong customer service orientation; ability to teach, train, and evaluate others; strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
- Other: Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
