Job Description
Liberty Software is seeking an IT/Desktop Support Technician to join our onsite team in Grapevine, TX. This role focuses on configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting servers, LANs, WANs, and VPNs, along with installing and maintaining workstations and printers to ensure a reliable and secure IT environment.
Location: Grapevine, TX (onsite)
Salary: USD 25 per hourly
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or related field
Experience: Minimum 2 years in IT support
Responsibilities
- Answer inquiries from external customers via multiple channels, diagnose potential solutions, and guide customers through the resolution process.
- Lead the installation, configuration, and upkeep of personal workstations, servers, Ethernet networks, cabling, and related equipment and systems.
- Manage local area networks in accordance with TCP/IP standards.
- Develop and enforce network security in line with URAC, HIPAA, and PCI requirements, including building firewalls, applying cryptography to applications, managing host security, file permissions, and backup and disaster recovery plans as needed.
- Diagnose and resolve issues across networks, systems, and applications to restore normal operations.
- Proactively identify potential communication and networking problems and implement preventive measures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or related field plus at least two years of IT support experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of computer networking and TCP/IP.
- Proficiency with WANs and expert-level knowledge of LANs.
- Desktop support or similar experience is required; a strong background in workstation management and hardware/OS installations and upgrades is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both in person and over the phone, with experience using Microsoft Windows and related programs.
