Job Description

Work onsite in Hingham, MA as a full-time IT Help Desk Support specialist, helping keep people and systems running smoothly. What you’ll do

As the first line of technical support, you’ll troubleshoot and resolve issues across end-user hardware, software, and connectivity. You will handle requests submitted by phone, email, and in person, and you’ll support staff through desk-side visits and remote connections.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with computer hardware, peripheral hardware (printers, copiers, faxes, scanners, etc.), software, and internet and network services
  • Support email, phones and phone service, and network and internet equipment
  • Set up and support A/V equipment for meetings, training, and events
  • Document requests and issues in the department tracking system, including assigning, updating, and completing work orders
  • Prepare, configure, and deploy new, replacement, and upgraded computer hardware, peripherals, software, phones, network equipment, and cables
  • Create and maintain user accounts, shared resources, and permissions using Active Directory and support internal systems
  • Assist with maintenance and application of information security practices, with a focus on end-user hardware, software, and processes
  • Coordinate with external vendors for installations and repairs when assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and experience we need

  • 2+ years supporting desktops, laptops, and peripherals in a networked environment
  • Moderate to advanced experience installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Experience resolving internet, network, and telephone connectivity problems
  • 2+ years demonstrated Help Desk or Customer Support experience assisting others over the phone
  • Experience supporting computers in a Windows WAN/LAN environment
  • Strong teamwork and customer service skills in a fast-paced, multitasking setting
  • Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects such as computer equipment and peripherals
  • Ability to identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and solve complex programs
  • Clear rapport-building skills with end-users, colleagues, and vendors via phone, email, and in person
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, accurate, and able to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of multidisciplinary groups

Role details

  • Position: IT Help Desk Support (full-time, weekdays)
  • Location: Hingham, MA (onsite)
  • Schedule: full-time weekdays, some nights and weekends needed for school events
  • FLSA: Non-Exempt
  • Salary range: $65,000 to $72,000 per year
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant professional certifications in Information Systems, Computers Science, or related field preferred
