Job Description

The IT Support Engineer I role within Amazon's OpsTech IT organization delivers hands-on technical support for computer hardware, operating systems, and enterprise software. The position encompasses network engineering, ensuring infrastructure availability, and overseeing local technical projects. It is an onsite opportunity in Salinas, CA, with travel up to 25% and the possibility of lifting up to 49 pounds.

Compensation

Hourly rate: USD 25 - 41

Responsibilities

  • Design, troubleshoot, and administer network infrastructure across diverse software and hardware environments.
  • Maintain high availability of networking and computing systems during production hours.
  • Collaborate with management and staff to provide analytical and technical assistance for continuous IT solution improvements.
  • Oversee local IT projects.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Identify root causes of operational issues and process inefficiencies.
  • Lift up to 49 pounds and stand or walk during shifts up to 12 hours.
  • Travel up to 25 percent of the time.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Windows Server technologies, including Active Directory, DFS, Print Services, and SCCM.
  • Over 2 years of troubleshooting in a multi-user high-availability environment.
  • Over 2 years of PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and liquidation experience.
  • At least 1 year of IT client, server, and network service delivery experience.
  • Over 2 years of networking experience, including DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP.
  • More than 2 years of corporate setting Windows, Mac or Linux operating systems support experience.
  • Over 2 years of experience supporting and maintaining a corporate network environment.
