Job Description
Tempus is hiring an IT Support Specialist to help enable secure and private cancer care technology across the organization. This hybrid role in Chicago focuses on troubleshooting end-user technology, supporting accounts and devices, and keeping workplace systems and conference room equipment running reliably.
In this mid-level position, you will work through ticketing workflows, diagnose issues across Windows and macOS, and partner with cross-functional IT teams and external vendors when problems require deeper resolution.
What you’ll do
- Respond to, track, and resolve IT requests using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow and Zendesk, providing timely updates and remediation.
- Diagnose and resolve issues on Windows and macOS devices, including computer peripherals and basic network connectivity.
- Administer user accounts for employee onboarding and offboarding, handle password resets, and support identity management tools including MS Active Directory, Okta, and Google Admin.
- Configure, deploy, and maintain computer systems and laptops using Mobile Device Management (MDM) applications, including inventory tracking.
- Install and support security products, including endpoint and anti-virus/malware protection, and assist with VOIP phone system troubleshooting.
- Document fixes in ServiceNow and create Wikis or How-To guides to improve self-service and reduce repeat incidents.
- Coordinate across teams and work with software and hardware vendors to resolve complex issues.
- Provide AV and conference room break-fix support for technologies including TVs, Apple TV, Mac Mini, and Crestron.
Requirements
- 2+ years in an IT-related field and/or a relevant customer service troubleshooting role.
- Associate’s degree in IT or Computer Science (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- Proficiency supporting macOS (Mac OS-X) and Microsoft Windows.
- Experience installing and troubleshooting SaaS products and collaboration tools, including Google Workspace, Slack, and Dropbox.
- Familiarity with SaaS ticketing systems, basic network troubleshooting, and enterprise identity management platforms.
- Strong problem-solving and customer service mindset, with clear verbal and written communication skills and the ability to write clear user instructions and procedures.
- Ability to work independently or with a team in a fast-paced, agile environment, supporting remote, on-site, and hybrid users.

Location and compensation
- Location: Chicago, IL (hybrid)
- Salary: USD 60,000 - 80,000 per year
