IT Support Specialist
Job Description
UNITED WAREHOUSE COMPANY is looking for an IT Support Specialist to provide deskside support while administering internal technology systems across multiple locations. In this onsite role in Wichita, KS, you will help resolve hardware and software issues, support users through OS, application, and networking troubleshooting, and assist the internal IT Helpdesk.
What you’ll do
- Monitor and maintain a complex, multi-site Windows network environment to support company business objectives
- Ensure IT platforms meet customer needs and align with company goals across business units
- Take a lead role with minimal supervision in remediating system failures, including logging failures, documenting work procedures, and recording system configuration
- Provide support and troubleshooting across the OS, application, and network layers, including resolving hardware, software, and networking issues
- Configure, optimize, fine-tune, and monitor operating system software and servers
- Perform system backups and recovery, and conduct server builds
- Support operating system application use cases, along with network and server monitoring and performance tuning
- Install and configure Windows OS, services, and applications
- Administer servers and endpoint infrastructure including desktops, printers, routers, switches, firewall, phones, smartphones, software deployments, and security updates and patches
- Support LANs, WANs, network segments, and Internet systems, including monitoring networks for security and availability
- Set up new end-user computer and network work systems, and provide technical support to company users
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair computer, network, and processing systems
- Work in Microsoft’s 365 platform and support initial setup of new customers through hands-on and arms-length configuration
- Respond to Help Desk tickets and support special IT projects for the department
- Work with Business Managers and Customer Service Teams to help maintain data management integrity and ensure proper, timely communication of data to appropriate personnel
- Coordinate with other departments to support overall effective operations and maintain professional, courteous relationships with customers
- Assist with printer and copier devices, including setup, troubleshooting, and repair
- Use VPN, TCP/IP, and general networking channels while operating within the IT environment
- Stay current on technology and bring innovation and industry-leading ideas to the program
- Travel occasionally for new implementations or special projects, supporting site-specific needs across United facilities
What you bring
- 3-4 years of IT Support experience
- Working knowledge of:
- Windows 10 client operating system support
- Windows Active Directory administration
- Microsoft Office 365
- Windows Server
- Enterprise desktop support of IP voice, data, printing, and security functions
- PC hardware configuration, installation, and problem resolution
- Ability to deliver outstanding customer service
- Strong problem-solving and analytics skills, with reasoning ability

Compensation: USD 45,000 - 50,000 per year
Experience: 3 years minimum
Reports to: Chief Information Officer
Classification: Exempt

Work environment and physical requirements
- Office cubical setting, working in close proximity with other peers
- Regularly required to use hands to finger to type
- Frequently required to sit for long periods throughout the day
- Stand, walk, stoop, and reach for items such as files or books at, above or below desk level
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, strenuous focus on a computer screen, and ability to adjust focus
- Requires ability to hear and speak clearly to communicate with others
