Job Description
A senior level IT/OT infrastructure and technical support professional onsite in Rahway, NJ, owning end-to end cGMP compliant IT/OT systems for research laboratories and manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop secure HMI components within IT/OT platforms, including DeltaV DCS, control historian, and PLCs
- Assist integration of OT and HMI applications with gateways, control systems, and communication protocols
- Operate and maintain OT systems, tools, and applications
- Support IT/OT services such as asset inventory and configuration management
- Perform risk assessments, obtain permits, and manage technician allocation
- Conduct investigations, process change requests, and ensure compliance with engineering documentation standards using best practices
- ROBO administration, server builds, and backup and recovery activities
- Provide local network support including access switch provisioning and troubleshooting
- Coordinate IP address management for Rahway and West Point sites, including the VIM network
- Administer firewall rules for systems spanning multiple VLANs at Rahway (BAS, Empower, LabX, Thermo, DeltaV mobile)
- Troubleshoot issues with servers and virtual machines
- Set up and troubleshoot DeltaV virtual controllers
- Configure Active Directory groups
- Monitor SAN storage and server space usage
- Support Digital Transformation initiatives involving system integrations, data connectivity, analysis/modeling, validation methods, and manufacturing optimization
Requirements
- 5+ years of DeltaV batch automation experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical environment
- Proven ability to resolve software and automation problems and maintain reliable operation of building control and automation systems while adhering to global standards
- Experience in commissioning and qualification of automated systems aligned with CSV requirements in a GxP regulated environment
- Extensive knowledge of GxP, Health, Safety & Environment, and Quality systems
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Science or a minimum of 3 years of equivalent practical experience in automation control within a regulated environment
- Solid understanding of computer validation/SDLC principles and automation change control (GAMP 5)
- Strong technical competence with knowledge of pharmaceutical industry processes and practices
- Familiarity with network, cloud, and virtual server technologies
- Knowledge of SCADA, MES, and LIMS in support of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes
- Demonstrated project management capabilities and an entrepreneurial, self-starting approach
- Ability to work independently across time zones with clear communication across cultures and organizations
