Tech Support Specialist
Job Description
Tech Support Specialist roles at Burlington School District, onsite in Burlington, VT, provide IT support across district schools; three positions available with an hourly rate of $27-$30.
Responsibilities
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve issues across hardware, network, and software components.
- Manage tech support requests and IT service needs for the district's schools.
- Install and upgrade devices, operating systems, and software applications.
- Interact with users throughout the support lifecycle.
- Administer user accounts and credential management for multiple services.
- Keep inventories of software and hardware and maintain IT support documentation.
- Deliver support across on-site, remote, and phone channels to several schools.
- Support callers via the district help desk.
- Handle warranty repair requests.
- Assist students in troubleshooting issues with district-issued devices.
- Collaborate with staff and students to address evolving technology requirements.
- Partner with colleagues on the Tech Integration and Data Teams.
- Maintain professional communication and service standards as a support representative.
- Attend district computer services team meetings.
- Monitor adherence to legal requirements and district policies governing technology use.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee.

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely.

- Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems
- Wired and wireless network technologies
- Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Docs, etc.)
- Display technologies including TVs, projectors, and interactive displays
