Job Description

Technical Support Specialist based in Portland, TN provides first-line IT support for hardware, software, and connectivity across office and plant-floor environments, with travel to multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line help desk and end-user support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, handheld devices, and related plant-floor equipment.
  • Support user access, account issues, and basic application troubleshooting needs.
  • Manage, update, and follow up on support tickets through the IT service management system.
  • Assist with conference room systems, phone systems, and collaboration technologies.
  • Perform basic physical support tasks including running cables, terminating connectors, and ensuring device connectivity.
  • Coordinate with vendors and support onsite technology needs across multiple plant locations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of desktop support, endpoint support, or IT support experience as an IT specialist or similar role.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across PCs, laptops, printers, peripherals, and end-user devices.
  • Experience as an IT specialist in a business or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with help desk ticketing systems and support workflows.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and follow-up skills for IT support.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel regularly, including monthly travel to Louisville, KY and quarterly travel to Forest, MS; valid driver’s license required.
  • CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent hands-on IT specialist experience.
  • Ability to perform basic cabling, connector termination, and physical device setup.
  • Experience supporting endpoint patching and device lifecycle management.
  • Exposure to ERP systems (AX or similar platforms) supporting IT specialist users.
  • Experience working with vendors and service contracts.
  • Familiarity with Zebra printers, handheld scanners, thin clients, conference room systems, and plant-floor technologies.
  • Exposure to access control systems, document management platforms, or manufacturing support applications.

Compensation
