Tier 1 Technical Support Specialist
Job Description
Syndeo Networks, Inc. invites a dynamic Tier 1 Technical Support Specialist to join its on-site IT team in Freeport, IL. As the first point of contact for users, you will resolve hardware, software, and network issues while delivering strong customer service in a fast-paced environment.
The position carries a salary range of USD 40,000 to 62,000 per year and involves collaborating with ServiceNow, Jira, SCCM, Active Directory, and related enterprise tools to keep technology running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Handle requests submitted through ServiceNow, Jira, and other help desk platforms to resolve issues promptly.
- Troubleshoot software problems across Windows, macOS, and Linux, guiding users through steps or escalating when needed.
- Assist with hardware setup, configuration, and maintenance to optimize device performance.
- Address network connectivity issues including LAN, WAN, VPN, DNS, TCP/IP, and firewall configurations.
- Administer Active Directory accounts, GPOs, SCCM, and BMC Remedy tickets to manage access and updates.
- Provide desktop support for printers, mobile devices, and other peripherals to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Troubleshoot Internet connections at local residences and businesses.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in technical support with solid troubleshooting across software and hardware platforms.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.
- Understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and security best practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and remote management tools such as SCCM and Active Directory.
- Ability to triage issues efficiently using ServiceNow, Jira, Help Desk systems, and BMC Remedy.
- Clear communication skills to explain technical solutions to non-technical users while maintaining professional customer service.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure components including switches, routers, mobile devices, and ongoing OS management.
