Job Description

The Associate Helpdesk Technician role supports end-users and assists with IT operations under the direction of the Manager of IT Operations. This onsite position is based in New Rochelle, NY at Tutor Perini Corporation.

Role Overview

You will serve as a first-line contact for help tickets and end-user requests, performing triage, troubleshooting, and guided resolution across a range of software and hardware environments. You will also handle operational tasks related to accounts, documentation, incident escalation, PC imaging, and asset audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to end-user help tickets, calls, and emails by diagnosing issues quickly and coaching users through software and hardware resolutions.
  • Manage user account changes in Active Directory/Entra ID.
  • Document incidents and escalate them to the appropriate responsible groups when needed.
  • Prepare and publish self-help documentation for common “how to” problems.
  • Proactively monitor systems and troubleshoot to diagnose and isolate network problems, minimizing downtime.
  • Image new PCs and update images on currently deployed PCs using SmartDeploy.
  • Inventory new equipment and software, and perform periodic audits of deployed assets.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of IT service desk experience.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+ certification (preferred).
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (preferred).
  • KCS (Knowledge Centered Service) or equivalent certification (a plus).
  • Associate degree in conjunction with other certifications and work experience considered; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven mastery of Windows operating systems, including Windows 11.
  • Strong working knowledge of Active Directory, including the ability to create, modify, or disable accounts.
  • Familiarity with drive mappings and Desktop Authority is recommended.
  • Ability to install, upgrade, and troubleshoot computers, monitors, printers, copiers, and multi-function devices (MFPs).
  • Ability to troubleshoot network connection issues for both wired and wireless environments.
  • Understanding of troubleshooting for Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Ability to set up smart phones and tablet computers (iPads) for corporate access and basic troubleshooting support.
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Salary and Work Authorization

The expected hourly range is $30.00 to $35.00, depending on experience. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
