Dependable Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Help Desk Technician III to support a mix of SMBs, municipalities, and school districts across Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, and Minnesota. This onsite role in La Crosse, WI blends direct client interaction with hands-on desktop support and help desk ticket handling, with opportunities to own Tier 3 escalations and contribute to infrastructure projects. The role requires balancing customer service with technical execution, from everyday user support to complex escalations and infrastructure work. Based in La Crosse, Wisconsin, you will engage with clients onsite and through established ticketing workflows, with a compensation range of $26 to $29 per hour depending on background.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver help desk and desktop support across Windows client and server environments; troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues for end users
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies in Active Directory, Google Workspace, and M365
  • Support LAN/WAN, VPN, firewall, DNS, and general network administration within client environments
  • Process tickets through the PSA/RMM platform and document resolutions and client configurations
  • Escalate or independently resolve complex problems based on experience; Tier 3 candidates own escalations end-to-end and assist with infrastructure projects
  • Assist with software deployment, patching, and system upgrades
  • Monitor security tooling and backup logs daily, creating tickets as needed

Requirements

  • 2+ years of help desk or technical support experience (2–3 years for Tier 2 consideration; 4+ years with networking/security depth for Tier 3)
  • Working knowledge of Windows environments; experience with Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Familiarity with core networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical clients
  • CompTIA A+ or Network+ or equivalent certifications preferred, not required
  • MSP or multi-client support experience is a plus
