Helpdesk Technician
Job Description
This Helpdesk Technician position is based onsite in Schaumburg, IL, delivering level 1/2 desktop and help desk support with opportunities to learn new technologies.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues reported to the helpdesk via phone, email, or on-site visits.
- Perform hardware upgrades and repairs, including memory upgrades, hard drive replacements, operating system builds, patching, and software installations.
- Learn and adapt to new technologies as products are introduced.
- Document support tickets with detailed information to ensure clear case history.
- Provide timely follow-up with customers regarding ticket status and resolutions.
- Conduct on-site visits for installations and ongoing customer service as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to independently research technical solutions with minimal supervision.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the IT field.
- Experience with cloud solutions from Google and Microsoft.
- Working knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
- Strong understanding of basic IT and networking fundamentals.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with users and vendors.
- High energy, teamwork orientation, commitment to ongoing education, and dedication to delivering exceptional customer service.
