Job Description
Based in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, EMCO Technology, Inc seeks an IT Field Service Help Desk Technician to manage customer IT infrastructure, troubleshoot desktop hardware and software, and install and support network devices across on-site, in-house, and remote environments.
Responsibilities
- Execute the necessary technical work to manage client IT infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve desktop and laptop hardware and software issues.
- Install, test, and support network devices including servers, workstations, VMWare components, printers, SPAM filters, Exchange servers, Active Directory, and Windows DNS.
- Provide in-house, on-site, and remote computer and network services.
- Collaborate with the customer’s business-critical servers, software packages, and support vendors.
- Maintain a solid understanding of core Internet concepts such as DNS, security, IP routing, HTTP, VPN, and email routing.
- Configure and deploy firewalls, switches, VPN concentrators, and security appliances.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for hardware, software, networks and issue logs.
- Work with Microsoft 0365, SharePoint, and other Microsoft products.
- Back up and restore client systems and data as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends to support the network and PC environment.
- Coordinate with external vendors to troubleshoot IT issues at labs or manufacturing facilities as necessary.
- Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair network connectivity problems.
- Apply strong problem-solving and logical thinking to learn and apply new technical concepts quickly.
- Communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, translating technical concepts for business audiences.
- Write and maintain thorough technical documentation.
- Maintain accurate inventories of hardware, software, and licenses.
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other technical discipline; preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in office infrastructure and office technologies.
- Expert level operation of Windows operating systems.
- Proficient operation of Microsoft Office 2010 and higher and other basic Microsoft Windows applications.
- Configuration and troubleshooting of PCs, laptops, tablets, and smartphones (iOS and Android).
- Mac experience preferred.
- Strong diagnostic, problem resolution and proactive monitoring skills.

Compensation and location
Salary: USD 25 - 40 per hour. Location: Cherry Hill, NJ (onsite).
