IT Support Technician - II
Job Description
The IT Support Technician II role supports the Houston corporate office of Diligent Delivery Systems by installing and maintaining computer systems, networks, and hardware, while troubleshooting user and connectivity issues and performing security maintenance.
Role Overview
As an IT Support Technician II, you will handle day-to-day installation, configuration, and repair tasks for office technology. The position includes monitoring network availability, performing backups, maintaining repair logs, and supporting secure access for users.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and update operating systems, software, computers, printers, and routers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity faults through helpdesk support, phone support, remote access, or in-person visits.
- Monitor network availability and run data backups.
- Replace damaged parts and maintain logs of repairs.
- Ensure network privacy, manage user access, and update anti-virus software.
Technical Support and Tools
- Use helpdesk and remote access to support users and address issues.
- Work in Office365 environments and support users with new software and computer equipment.
- Apply LAN/WAN knowledge in troubleshooting and connectivity work.
- Support security maintenance using anti-virus software and internet security and data privacy practices.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of computer systems, security principles, and network infrastructure (LAN/WAN).
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex software and hardware issues quickly.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Goal-oriented, organized team player.
- Ability to support users with how to operate new software and computer equipment.
- In-depth knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.
- Ability to detect, diagnose, and troubleshoot problems related to hardware, software, or organizational activities.
- Ability to detect computer or network equipment shortages and place orders.
- Comfortable in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, squat, and lift equipment.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role required.
- Strong experience in Office365 environments.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified Professional are a bonus.
Location and Employment Details
- Location: Houston, TX (onsite)
- Salary: USD 25 - 30 per hourly
- Minimum Experience: 5 years
