Job Description

Sentara Hospitals is seeking an on-site IT Technical Support Specialist in Doral, Florida. This customer-facing role focuses on diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues while delivering clear, user-friendly guidance to end users. You will help ensure proper installation and operation of IT systems, providing timely, reliable support to maintain business continuity. This position is based at Sentara Health Plan AvMed Miami, IT Office Suite 1100, 3470 NW 82nd Ave, Doral, FL 33122, and follows a first shift (days) schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance related to computer hardware, applications, software devices, and monitoring systems
  • Diagnose technical issues, assist users remotely or in person, and ensure proper installation and functionality of IT systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related problems remotely, in person, or by phone
  • Document and track support requests, resolutions, and system changes; escalate complex issues to higher-level IT support when needed
  • Assist with system maintenance and monitoring by installing, configuring, and maintaining IT hardware and software; monitor systems for performance issues or security risks; keep systems updated with patches and security measures
  • Provide clear, user-friendly technical guidance to users with varying IT knowledge; maintain a customer-focused and results-oriented attitude to ensure prompt issue resolution
  • Work independently and as part of a team; coordinate with other IT groups to resolve system-wide issues and implement technical solutions; train end users on IT security best practices and proper system usage

Requirements

  • Relevant prior experience (Required)
  • No specific certification or licensure requirements

Education

Bachelor's Degree preferred
