MSP IT Support Engineer
Job Description
TIC Business Consultants Ltd is seeking a hands-on MSP IT Support Engineer to support end users and help keep client networks running smoothly. This hybrid role combines remote troubleshooting with on-site work for clients in the Boston area, including scheduling field visits and rotating on-call coverage.
Based in North Andover, MA, the position supports clients through a mix of ticket-based assistance, network monitoring, and occasional on-site project and support work. Compensation for the role is USD 55,000 - 65,000 per year.
What you will do
- Support and track end user support tickets
- Handle day-to-day troubleshooting for client issues
- Schedule field visits when on-site support is required
- Monitor client networks as part of day-to-day MSP operations
- Provide on-site client visits, including on-site project work and onsite support when needed
- Deliver remote support to clients in the Boston area, making the role hybrid
What you bring
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client locations as required
- High-speed internet at home to support clients remotely
- Ability to work a rotating on-call shift
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting technology environments
- Understanding of operating platforms, connectivity, security, and information storage
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and desktop applications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Server OS, Exchange, Active Directory, and DNS is a plus
- Preferred: understanding of domains, TCP/IP, VPNs, and firewalls
- Knowledge of smart phones (including iPhone, iPad, and ActiveSync), plus related support
- Plus: experience with VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft Hyper-V
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and cloud networks
- Experience with RMM tools (Datto RMM, NinjaOne, ConnectWise, etc.)
- Knowledge of ticketing systems (Autotask, ConnectWise, ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)
- Familiarity with backup solutions and issue resolution
- Certifications in CompTIA+ or other training programs are welcome
- Ability to work effectively and independently, provide detailed documentation, and follow up well across a variety of environments
Tools and technologies
In this role, you may work with M365, malware and virus removal, Windows Operating Systems, Veeam, Datto, Datto RMM, Autotask, Active Directory, DHCP/DNS, ESXi/Hyper-V, SonicWALL, Ubiquiti, and Cisco, along with server platforms including Microsoft Server OS, Exchange, TCP/IP, VPNs, and firewalls. Additional exposure may include Smart Phones, iPhone, iPad, ActiveSync, VMware, Citrix, Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft 365, cloud networks, NinjaOne, ConnectWise, ServiceNow, Jira, and backup solutions. Training and qualifications may include CompTIA+.
