Job Description

Part-time onsite IT Support role focused on customer visits, troubleshooting, and technology rollouts for small to medium-sized business clients in the Metro Area.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer locations in the Metro Area when onsite presence is required
  • Troubleshoot and help resolve computer and network issues with support from remote personnel
  • Assist with new technology implementation alongside remote personnel
  • Assess customer support needs and identify appropriate technology solutions
  • Document work performed and other relevant technical information for clients

Requirements

  • Ability to diagnose and fix hardware and software issues for both desktops and servers
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting:
    • WinXP
    • Windows 7
    • Windows 2003 / 2008 Server
    • Active Directory
    • Exchange
    • DNS
  • End-user and help desk experience using MS Office Suite and common desktop applications
  • Troubleshooting experience for network-related issues tied to infrastructure such as switches and routers
  • TCP/IP configuration on networks and troubleshooting TCP/IP issues
  • Certifications (such as A+, MCSE, MCTS, MCITP, CNE, CCNA) are a plus, not required
  • Must live within close proximity to the Metro Area you are applying for

Compensation

  • $30.00 per hour
  • Hourly compensation provided even while traveling to the customer site
  • Minimum of $100 per job

Work Schedule & Availability

  • Hours are not guaranteed
  • Recurring assignment at a client site every other week
  • Job request frequency varies by location
  • Some areas may have higher customer volume and more requests
  • Other areas may have fewer customers and fewer requests
  • In lower volume areas, requests may range from once a month to once every three months
  • Most requests occur during business hours; after-hours requests may occur at times
  • Requests are flexible with no penalty for being unavailable for a specific task
  • Position is intended as supplemental income option, not consistent and guaranteed monthly income
