Job Description

Cynergy Technology is seeking a Technical Support Representative at the Advanced Tier 2/3 level to join its on-site team in Longview, Texas. The role centers on analyzing customer business needs, designing, implementing, and supporting network solutions across multiple architectures, while managing projects around installations and upgrades. You will also mentor colleagues, transfer knowledge, and act as a link between technology and business partners to ensure support aligns with the organization’s strategic direction.

Responsibilities

  • Design, specify, configure, install, and maintain LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi infrastructure, including hardware, software, and telecommunications services such as PCs, system software, applications, printers, servers, routers, switches, wireless devices, cabling, and dedicated Internet access.
  • Provide routine after-hours maintenance and emergency support to keep networks secure and available.
  • Create and manage network user accounts, user environments, directories, and security attributes.
  • Set up and troubleshoot communications among computers, networks, data switches, printers, and other network and wireless resources.
  • Ensure compliance with policies for hardware/software acquisition, user support, security, and data backup.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for all network administration processes and duties performed by network staff.
  • Test and evaluate software and hardware; stay informed about current networking trends.
  • Collaborate with Cynergy Technology management to establish and communicate standards for network, PCs, and data security.
  • Mentor less experienced staff through informal channels.
  • Identify areas for internal process improvements and propose workable solutions.
  • Maintain a customer-service orientation and communicate effectively with end-users and teammates.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a range of end-user and network operating systems.
  • Proficiency with Windows Server Operating Systems 2008 and 2012.
  • Ability to prioritize, assign, review, and evaluate work.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, perform systems analysis, and plan/organize in a timely manner.
  • Skill in assessing hardware and software needs for departments and end users.
  • Strong written and verbal communication for developing reports.
  • Effective oral and written communication with all levels of management and external agencies to coordinate and implement departmental applications.
  • Self-starter with the capacity to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to evaluate training needs and set objectives for technical staff.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems.
  • VoIP and advanced wireless experience is a plus.
  • Virtualization experience with VMware and Hyper-V, as well as VDI solutions, is a plus.
  • Microsoft or other industry certifications are preferred (Cisco).

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The role involves moderately heavy work in an office setting, including frequent standing, stooping, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 50 pounds during a typical day. Cynergy Technology maintains a drug- and alcohol-free workplace through mandatory pre-employment drug testing.

Minimum Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from an accredited college or university, with two to four years of experience installing computer networking and communications equipment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • A valid Texas driver’s license is required.
