Job Description

Equity Staffing Group is seeking a Technical Support Specialist for an on-site role in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The position provides hands-on technical assistance for computers, workstations, printers, and related resources, delivering end-user support by phone and on-site within a 24/7 Help Desk environment, with on-call coverage. The compensation ranges from USD 22 to 24 per hour and the designated education requirement is an Associates Degree.

Responsibilities

  • Handle Help Desk requests received by phone or email in a 24/7 environment, diagnosing and resolving issues.
  • Configure and sustain hardware and software assets, including computers, printers, copiers, faxes, scanners, and projectors.
  • Educate end users on solutions for various hardware and software problems.
  • Assist staff with installing, configuring, and ensuring ongoing usability of desktops, laptops, peripherals, and software, following applicable standards.
  • Escalate unresolved items to appropriate personnel to achieve resolution.
  • Install and maintain printers and scanners.
  • Prepare new computers by connecting keyboard, mouse, and monitor and verifying proper operation and software installation.
  • Diagnose and resolve computer software and hardware problems.
  • Provide software application support to end users by telephone or on-site.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and spoken form.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree with at least 6 months of experience in a desktop support environment, or 2 years of IT field work/military experience with a High School Diploma / GED.
  • At least 6 months of experience working with Microsoft Office to assist end users with hardware and software issues.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Willingness to work 1st or 2nd shift and at least one weekend day per week.
  • Experience using a ticketing system such as ServiceNow or ServiceDesk.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
