Job Description
Software Technology Inc is seeking a seasoned Desktop Support professional for a hybrid role based in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The position demands a substantial IT background, including 15+ years of experience with core infrastructure and a strong focus on Active Directory and SCCM, plus hands-on work with Autodesk and Bentley products. This is a six-month-plus contract with part-time telework options, designed to support CADD-heavy workflows and enterprise environments while offering flexible scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Create software installation packages for SCCM with an emphasis on Bentley products, following approved tools and processes.
- Download and prepare vendor software for packaging.
- Conduct test installations of out-of-the-box software to verify readiness.
- Choose appropriate installation methods, including batch or PowerShell scripting.
- Develop installation scripts according to established standards and best practices.
- Test and validate completed packages prior to distribution.
- Deliver finalized packages to the SCCM team for Software Center testing.
- Coordinate with technical leads, business users, and project managers during testing of software packages.
- Collaborate with testers to refine and improve the end-user experience.
- Address and resolve questions or issues that arise during testing.
- Resolve or assist in resolving cross-application technical issues.
- Provide support for end-user installation or deployment problems.
- Manage and update Active Directory groups relevant to CADD Support.
- Research and recommend hardware purchases when required.
- Provide clear, accurate, and timely status updates.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Work effectively in a team environment to meet shared objectives and share knowledge across teams.
- Complete assigned tasks within established time estimates and follow quality standards and procedures.
- Develop, refine, and document expert practices and standards; ensure documentation is accurate and current.
- Identify, track, and resolve issues, risks, and action items, staying informed about industry trends and emerging tools.
- Proactively anticipate and resolve issues impacting the team.
- Develop and support plotting solutions across various CADD applications.
- Update and distribute workspace resources for OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Designer, and MicroStation within ProjectWise and district servers (five years of experience).
- Package PennDOT Workspace for posting to the public CADD Resources site and guide Business Partners on implementing PennDOT workspace resources in their environments.
- Maintain and administer ProjectWise on-premises server infrastructure, supporting four ProjectWise environments across three Windows servers each.
- Maintain SQL databases associated with ProjectWise datasources and manage project creation and access control.
- Develop and implement new ProjectWise features (workflows, states) and test product upgrades.
- Establish onboarding methods for Business Partners to use ProjectWise and administer partner access and permissions.
- Collaborate with Security, Server, and SQL teams to make ProjectWise available to external Business Partners.
