Job Description
Onsite Help Desk/Desktop Support Analyst in Lewiston, ME on a long-term contract, offering USD 25 - 27 per hour and delivering day-to-day IT service and hands-on desktop support in the printing and publishing industry, with imaging, device deployment and workstation setup at the core.
Responsibilities
- Image, configure, and deploy desktop PCs, laptops, and peripherals to end users across the site.
- Identify and fix common hardware, software, and Windows related issues to minimize operation disruptions.
- Configure workstations, install sanctioned software, and swap devices as needed to sustain productivity.
- Log incidents, service requests, tasks completed, and resolution details in the service desk system with accuracy.
- Escalate complex or unresolved technical problems to senior IT staff with clear documentation and context.
- Keep current inventory records for devices, accessories, and deployment activity to support asset tracking.
- Deliver prompt on-site assistance to staff while adhering to established support procedures and documentation standards.
- Assist with general desktop support and related IT tasks as directed by the team.
- Support user accounts and handle basic administrative tasks in environments utilizing Active Directory.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a help desk, desktop support, or similar IT support role.
- Technical training in information technology or comparable hands-on experience supporting end-user computing environments.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems, including Windows 10, desktop hardware, and common peripheral devices.
- Practical experience with device imaging, PC setup, software installation, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to manage service desk tickets with accurate updates, clear notes, and timely follow-through.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory in support of basic user or workstation-related tasks.
- Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills in an onsite support setting.
- Organized work habits with the ability to balance multiple requests while maintaining attention to detail.
- Assist with user account support and basic administrative tasks within Active Directory environments.
