IT Systems Engineer (Field & Help Desk)
Job Description
TSI Colorado is seeking an IT Systems Engineer (Field & Help Desk) to deliver on-site and remote support across client environments in Colorado Springs, CO. In this role, you will function both as a field technician and a help desk escalation point, resolving complex problems while supporting deployments and onboarding activities. The position emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting across Windows Desktop, Windows Server, M365, and advanced networking.
What you’ll do
- Lead projects and support team members during infrastructure deployments.
- Provide on-site and remote help desk assistance, including high-level troubleshooting.
- Configure and maintain Windows Server, Exchange, and cloud environments such as M365 and Google Workspace.
- Manage and troubleshoot firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and wireless technologies.
- Own backup maintenance and data recovery procedures.
- Maintain meticulous client documentation and complete daily time entry.
- Explain complex technical issues in plain language for non-technical clients and provide accurate task time estimates.
Key technical focus
- Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, wireless technologies, routing and firewalling fundamentals.
- Cloud and productivity: M365 and Google Workspace administration, including tenant setup, licensing, and mail flow rules.
- Server administration: Windows Server role and feature management and event log troubleshooting, along with Active Directory support.
- Security: MFA concepts and endpoint security tooling such as EDR/XDR, with SOC-related understanding.
- Virtualization and recovery: VMware and Hyper-V resource and snapshot management, plus bare metal and granular file restores.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and security fundamentals including MFA, EDR, and SOC.
- Hands-on experience with Server hardware (CPU/RAID), network provisioning and installation, and mobile device management for iOS/Android.
- Strong attention to detail, a solution-focused approach, willingness to ask for help when needed, and the ability to troubleshoot independently before escalating.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb a ladder.
- Must currently reside within the Colorado Springs area, hold a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record, and have reliable personal transportation for daily client visits.

Schedule and compensation
- Salary: USD 68,962 - 83,051 per year.
- Minimum experience: 2 years.
