Restaurant IT Support Specialist (Mobile Position) OTP
Job Description
Mobile, onsite IT support across multiple locations with a focus on keeping restaurant operations running smoothly. This role supports restaurant teams through a mix of on-the-road troubleshooting and remote assistance, covering hardware, software, networking, and operating system issues in a fast-paced environment. If you have strong desktop support experience and hands-on networking knowledge, you can help maintain uptime and deliver responsive help desk support.
Compensation: USD 60,000 - 75,000 per year.
Location: Hapeville, GA (onsite). Work location is on the road with 100% travel required.
What you’ll do
- Provide on-site and remote technical support for restaurant staff, resolving hardware, software, network, and operating system issues promptly and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues across computers, mobile devices, printers, POS systems, and networking hardware including routers, switches, VPNs, firewalls, and LAN/WAN configurations.
- Manage help desk tickets by documenting problems, tracking progress, and communicating resolution updates.
- Support Active Directory tasks such as user account setup, permissions adjustments, and password resets, while following security protocols.
- Perform computer management activities including OS installation, Windows updates, hardware upgrades, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Handle network troubleshooting for connectivity and firewall settings to help maintain reliable network performance.
- Coordinate with IT teams on infrastructure rollouts, including deploying new hardware or software solutions across locations.
What you bring
- 3+ years of technical support experience in a fast-paced environment, with strong desktop support and equipment troubleshooting skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with help desk systems.
- OTP certifications and McDonald’s IT infrastructure experience is a MUST.
- Solid understanding of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls (example: Meraki), and network administration.
- Expertise supporting Windows (including Windows Server environments), plus macOS and Linux.
- Ability to troubleshoot software issues tied to operating systems and POS applications; SCCM experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of Active Directory account management; GPO configuration experience is desirable.
- Strong communication skills with a customer-service approach for supporting non-technical users effectively.
- Analytical skills to identify root causes quickly and implement fixes that prevent repeat issues.
