Job Description
POWTEC Solutions is hiring an on-site IT Technical Support Specialist to support NAVFAC Marianas’ Command Information Office (CIO) in Guam, keeping enterprise IT systems operating smoothly and serving Navy stakeholders through responsive helpdesk and technical support. This role is based in Asan, GU (onsite), with a standard 40-hour Monday to Friday schedule and a benefits package designed to support your well-being.
What you’ll do
- Deliver helpdesk support through email, phone, and Microsoft Teams
- Monitor, triage, and resolve tickets in the Enterprise ticket tracking system
- Handle basic troubleshooting such as password resets, peripherals, and software navigation
- Diagnose and resolve more complex hardware, software, and network issues
- Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems, applications, and peripherals
- Provide hands-on and remote technical assistance for end-users
- Support the command’s Telephone Coordinating Officer (TCO) including landlines and VoIP management
- Manage and track service requests and maintain phone directories
- Gather IT requirements and coordinate equipment deployments
- Collaborate with internal IT teams and escalate complex issues
- Provision, configure, secure, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise mobile devices using MDM
- Support the IT hardware and software lifecycle from procurement through disposal
- Maintain accurate asset logs and records
- Create and update SOPs, user guides, and communications related to outages or updates
- Provide clerical support including reviewing office automation and managing files/records
- Perform other IT-related tasks as assigned
What you’ll need
- U.S. citizenship
- Active Tier 3 (T3) security clearance or ability to obtain interim clearance
- At least one certification per DoDM 8140.03:
- CompTIA Security+
- EC-Council Certified Network Defender (CND)
- GIAC Foundational Cybersecurity Technologies (GFACT)
- GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
- Minimum 3 years of IT helpdesk, technical support, or asset management experience (less considered with relevant certifications)
- Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) and enterprise ticketing systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret policies, technical documents, and manuals
- Physical ability to perform duties including standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs, plus climbing ladders (as applicable)

Schedule and work conditions
- On-site at NAVFAC Marianas facilities (no remote work except rare emergencies)
- 40-hour work week, Monday–Friday, excluding federal holidays
- No overtime or travel authorized
Physical and environment notes
- Regularly required to lift or move up to 20 pounds
- Regularly required to sit and stand for long periods
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, or crawl
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Works in a typical office environment with typical office noise levels
Pay: USD 21–22 per hour.
