Job Description
The role provides post-market technical support for semiconductor and SMT capital equipment, with a focus on troubleshooting electrical circuit issues and coordinating with field and engineering teams as needed. This is an onsite position in Westford, MA supporting customers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver remote and onsite technical support to customers to troubleshoot and resolve electrical circuit issues.
- Provide backup coverage to field service engineers to support timely and effective resolution of technical problems.
- Work cross functionally to review and update technical documentation, including manuals and service bulletins.
- Investigate recurring product failures and coordinate with Engineering and Manufacturing to identify lasting corrective actions.
- Create and maintain technical support documentation, troubleshooting guides, service procedures, and knowledge base articles.
- Maintain detailed records of service activities, including issues encountered, solutions applied, and client interactions.
- Train and guide customers and third-party personnel on troubleshooting, maintenance, and operations of products.
- Support occasional after-hours calls and travel when required for technical support.
- Follow ISO procedures and safety protocol, including wearing appropriate PPE where designated.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; Bachelor’s preferred. Trade school experience, related field experience, or equivalent technical experience also considered.
- Experience: 3+ years in technical support or service roles, preferably in semiconductor or electronics manufacturing.
- Technical proficiency: Ability to troubleshoot electrical, electronics, and mechanical systems remotely, including PLC control systems.
- Certifications (preferred): Relevant technical certifications such as SEMI or IPC.
Technical Skills and Tools
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- PLC control systems.
- Salesforce and ERP systems.
- AI tools.
- Fourier Transforms, filter design, differential equations.
- CAD and data analysis.
- Diagnostic tools for semiconductor equipment.
Competencies
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while meeting time sensitive deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly.
- Strong math and measurement capability for troubleshooting and diagnostics, including Ohm’s Law, power calculations, impedance, and reactive components to support electrical circuit analysis.
- Exposure to analytical methods such as Fourier Transforms, filter design, and differential equations, including frequency response, load distribution, and thermal management.
- Familiarity with diagnostic software and CAD/data analysis tools is a plus.

Compensation: USD 35 to 42 per hour
