Job Description

The IT Help Desk Specialist supports end users and IT systems onsite in Afton, TX, delivering hands-on technical assistance for devices, accounts, and equipment while maintaining documentation, handling tickets, and contributing to onboarding, offboarding, and after-hours support.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical assistance for end-user devices including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
  • Track and update helpdesk tickets with precise notes to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Create, manage, and support end user accounts and email mailbox configurations.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes for user accounts and IT equipment.
  • Configure, install, maintain, support, and repair peripheral devices and printers.
  • Maintain and service Windows and macOS computers.
  • Keep an accurate inventory of hardware and software assets and monitor equipment assignments and returns.
  • Support antivirus and malware software administration and operations.
  • Set up and manage file servers, shares, and external file access systems.
  • Install and troubleshoot CVE-adopted software packages.
  • Set up and maintain IT systems at job site locations across the United States, with potential limited travel required.
  • Configure network switch ports and basic networking equipment for remote sites.
  • Configure and support Cisco IP phones.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours support.
  • Support Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, and mobile device management efforts.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

  • Self-starter with strong leadership and collaboration skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • Effective time management, prioritization, and deadline adherence.
  • Willingness to learn, contribute to the team, and drive process improvements.
  • Experience with scripting using PowerShell or Batch.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Microsoft 365, current desktop and server operating systems, DNS, DHCP, and print services.
  • Preference for Cisco Network or Cisco Meraki experience.
  • Certification such as A+ or Net+ is preferred.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Compensation

Rate: USD 30.00 - 35.00 per hour

Location

Afton, TX (onsite). This role requires on-site work and may involve some travel to job site locations across the United States.
