Job Description

On-the-road restaurant IT support specialist delivering on-site and remote technical assistance to McDonald's staff across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site and remote technical support for restaurant staff, addressing hardware, software, network, and operating system issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems including computers, mobile devices, printers, POS systems, and networking hardware such as routers, switches, VPNs, firewalls, and LAN/WAN configurations.
  • Manage help desk tickets, document issues, track resolutions, and communicate progress effectively.
  • Support Active Directory management for user accounts, permissions adjustments, and password resets while ensuring security protocols are followed.
  • Assist with computer management tasks including OS installations, Windows updates, hardware upgrades, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Conduct network troubleshooting involving connectivity issues and firewall settings to maintain optimal network performance.
  • Collaborate with IT teams on infrastructure projects such as deploying new hardware or software solutions to ensure smooth implementation across locations.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with help desk systems.
  • OTP certifications and McDonald's IT infrastructure experience a must.
  • Extensive technical support experience in a fast-paced environment with a focus on desktop support and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN setup, TCP/IP protocols, DNS management, VPNs, firewalls (e.g., Meraki), and network administration.
  • Expertise in Windows support (including Windows Server environments), macOS, Linux operating systems, and related hardware components.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software issues related to operating systems and POS applications; experience with software deployment tools such as SCCM is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer service oriented approach to assist non-technical users effectively.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory management for user accounts; experience with GPO configurations is desirable.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure components such as computer hardware components and network devices essential for maintaining operational continuity.
  • Analytical skills to identify root causes of technical problems quickly and implement lasting solutions.

Salary: USD 60,000 - 75,000 per year
