Valpro Commercial Refrigeration is seeking an onsite HVAC/R Technical Support Specialist in Tampa, FL. Responsibilities
- Assist customers, dealers, and service technicians with troubleshooting for commercial refrigerators, freezers, controls, and related equipment.
- Collect diagnostic information by asking targeted questions and gathering photos, videos, temperature readings, electrical readings, and service data.
- Evaluate whether reported problems are likely warranty-related or not.
- Coordinate warranty service with independent HVAC/R and commercial refrigeration service providers nationwide.
- Provide service technicians with product data, wiring diagrams, parts information, service documentation, and troubleshooting support.
- Identify replacement parts and manage parts shipments.
- Create and maintain accurate service cases, notes, and follow-up activities in the CRM.
- Oversee service matters through to completion and maintain professional communication with customers and service companies.
- Review third-party documentation and invoices to ensure consistency with warranty-service guidelines.
- Inspect and test refrigerators, freezers, controllers, motors, sensors, relays, electrical components, and related parts at the Tampa facility.
- Perform basic component replacement and equipment adjustments after receiving appropriate training.
- Collaborate with sales, warehouse, parts, and management teams.
Requirements
- HVAC, HVAC/R, refrigeration, electrical, industrial-maintenance, appliance-repair, or comparable technical education.
- Relevant military technical or equipment-maintenance experience.
- Hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, or installing HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, appliance, restaurant, industrial, or other mechanical equipment.
- Basic understanding of refrigeration cycles, electrical, or mechanical principles.
- Familiarity with a digital multimeter or other electrical diagnostic tools, or demonstrated ability to learn their proper use.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to conduct hands-on equipment inspection and testing.
- Ability to follow a logical troubleshooting process.
- Professional telephone, email, and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and experienced service technicians.
- Ability to learn company products, parts, warranty procedures, CRM software, and inventory systems.

Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of an HVAC or HVAC/R technical-training program
- EPA Section 608 certification
- Commercial refrigeration experience
- HVAC service or air-conditioning experience
- Refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, or equipment-repair experience
- Experience with wiring diagrams, compressors, fan motors, controllers, sensors, relays, capacitors, and start components
- Prior technical-support, warranty-support, or customer-service experience
- Experience using CRM or inventory-management software
