Help Desk Analyst
Job Description
Robert Half is seeking an entry-level Help Desk Analyst for an onsite contract role in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This position focuses on first-line IT support, device setup and replacement, and end-user assistance for staff and students. Compensation is USD 18 - 22 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first contact for end users seeking technical help with desktop systems, software, and hardware.
- Assist with device replacement by configuring, swapping, and validating equipment for daily use.
- Carry out equipment refresh tasks, including decommissioning older workstations and provisioning updated devices.
- Troubleshoot basic issues involving PCs, desktops, and related software to restore functionality promptly.
- Support Chromebook setup, ongoing assistance, and issue resolution when assigned.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and communicate status updates to the appropriate team.
- Test devices after installation or repair to confirm proper operation before handoff.
- Keep an organized workspace and handle technology assets carefully during support and deployment activities.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of computer hardware, desktop systems, and common software applications.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve entry-level technical issues with patience and attention to detail.
- Apply general knowledge of technical support practices in a help desk or end-user environment.
- Bring experience with PCs, workstations, or desktop equipment from work or academic settings.
- Exposure to Chromebook devices is strongly preferred.
- Communicate clearly to non-technical users and provide effective support.
- Maintain dependable work habits and manage multiple equipment-related tasks efficiently.
