Help Desk/Desktop Support Analyst
Job Description
Contract Help Desk and Desktop Support Analyst position onsite in Rochester, NY, paying USD 19 - 22 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily technician schedules for remote support and on-site visits, ensuring proper timing, travel allowances, and coverage for high-priority requests.
- Modify assignments in real time in response to urgent incidents, scheduling conflicts, or changes in technician availability that affect service delivery.
- Pre-screen upcoming visits to verify that required equipment, parts, and materials are ready ahead of time to prevent field delays.
- Maintain a professional on-site presence by greeting expected visitors, receiving deliveries, and routing items or requests to the correct internal teams.
- Monitor routine office and field supply stock, identify shortages, and communicate replenishment needs before inventory becomes disruptive.
- Capture initial client issues via service desk tickets and walk users through basic troubleshooting before escalation for more complex problems.
- Assist with basic desktop and endpoint issues in Microsoft Windows environments and common connectivity problems.
- Maintain precise service coordination records and keep support workflows organized to support timely request completion.
Requirements
- Minimum two years of experience in customer service, dispatching, service coordination, administrative support, or a related help desk environment.
- Must be able to work on-site in Rochester, NY and handle duties that require physical presence in the office.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks and respond promptly under pressure.
- Knowledge of service desk ticket handling and coordination of technical support requests.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, including Windows 10, and comfort with basic desktop troubleshooting.
- Exposure to core IT concepts such as Active Directory, networking hardware, and standard office or field cabling.
- Clear communication and a customer-focused approach when assisting users, visitors, and internal technical staff.
