Job Description
Part-time in-home field role based in West Sacramento, CA, requiring daily travel to customer residences to deliver a blend of sales and technical support using the Serve, Solve, Sell model. The position includes paid training and a compensation package with base pay, mileage reimbursement, a phone stipend, and commissions.
Role overview
This part-time role combines in-home sales outreach with practical tech support. You will engage customers during scheduled visits, learn product details, and develop skills in communication, negotiation, and problem solving while representing Asurion in the field.
Responsibilities
- Apply the Serve, Solve, Sell approach during field visits to assist customers where they are, whether in their home or another location.
- Participate in paid training to prepare for independent field work, followed by ongoing coaching and mentoring to support growth.
- Become proficient with product offerings and gain hands-on sales experience while enhancing communication and negotiation abilities.
- Meet customers in-home, in offices, or other locations; interactions are pre-scheduled to support meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the engagement, always placing the customer first.
- Diagnose or address tech issues with clear, understandable solutions, ensuring the resolution meets the customer’s needs.
- Ensure customers leave with a workable resolution and a product that supports future technology needs.
- Leverage a growing range of products to tailor solutions to individual customer circumstances.
- Listen actively to uncover customer needs and position products accordingly to satisfy those needs.
- Utilize strong negotiation and communication skills to adapt as needed and close appropriate sales.
- Part-time schedule with afternoon and evening availability; typical shifts run 4:05 PM to 9:00 PM, with variations by customer needs. In select markets, a flexible 4+ day option may be available, requiring at least 25 hours per week across four days and at least one weekend day, with shifts generally between 12:05 PM and 9:00 PM. You may start as late as 4:00 PM but must remain available until 9:00 PM on scheduled days.
Requirements
- Comfort working in a sales environment with measurable targets.
- Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record with at least one year of driving experience.
- Proof of valid auto insurance required, with Manhattan market excluded.
- A personal vehicle (motorcycles not accepted); travel likely up to 120 miles one-way to neighborhoods and cities near the inventory warehouse.
- Ability to work a varied five-day week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A personal cellphone for work communications.
- Comfort working around household pets.

- Base hourly pay guaranteed for all hours worked, with bi-weekly payroll; earned pay may be accessed early.
